Midget (now Cindy Hill)

The little girl was wailing, holding her beloved dog beside the beatup car with broken windows that were duct-taped together. The car had been her family's home for some time. Her family was now at the bus station adogs that wouldnd were moving on to a different life. But dogswere not allowed on board and her beloved dog had to be left behind. A kind soldier passing by readily agreed to take the little dog home with him. Once home, he put the frightened little dog in his large, fenced yard. Three times the little dog escaped and ran away. Twice, the soldier was able to find her again, and return her to the yard. The third time, he could not find her. Later the same day just as Lyla Lampson was closing the thrift store for the day, a couple stopped in and asked if she could take in a little dog they'd found at the cemetary (yep, the same dog!). Lyla reluctantly took the dog in as she already had too many dogs. Fortunately, "Midget" fit right in and the other dogs accepted her and played with her after a very careful introduction. After receiving no response to her ads in the newspaper for "Midget", Lyla adopted her out to a couple who had called in response the the ads who wanted such a dog. The new couple had lost their beloved Lhaso Apso a few weeks back to kidney failure and wanted a small companion dog. So after being spayed and vaccinated, Midget, now Cindy Hill, now belongs to a loving couple who will have her sleep on the bed with them (as she is used to) and take her camping, and love her to death.

Trisha
Trisha

Trisha, a kitten with serious eye infections was rescued by a 10 yr old boy whose Mom is a vet tech. Trisha spent several months at the vet's office being treated for upper respiratory infection and conjunctivitis before Cats Galore took her in. One eye retained serious scarring and she has very little sight out of it, but the other eye now looks normal. Due to her appearance, we did not think she would adopt out readily and accepted she would live at the shelter permanently. We did not count on others, like us, who would take in a cat like Trisha, sight unseen, because they care about the cats that are not adoptable. JoAnne e-mailed us that she had an opening for Trish, as she had lost one of her beloved cats. JoAnne takes in a number of "unadoptable" cats at a time to give them a loving home. Some, like Trisha, lack eyesight in one eye or are completely missing an eye. Others are missing a limb or other body part. Trish moved in with JoAnne and her menagerie a few weeks ago and reports are that she fit right in. She was already used to lots of cats, and took right to the two dogs Joanne had. Trisha also loves water, we learn, and plays endlessly in the shower water pan! It is indeed wonderful when others are willing to love the cats not everyone will love and give them a richer and happier life! Thank you JOANNE!
